My whole essence as a musician. 94 of them currently reside here on Newgrounds within my profile. But a lack of feedback during that time leads me to believe I should just give up.

Dude, the answer is simple. There is over too much of good music around. It was plenty before, but today with computers it is over over plenty. So even if you are genius the chance to get higher is very low, because - 1.people taste average they don't need something exceptional. 2. today it's like one good/great song out of 100000 make it. Because so much people have tools to make quality music today.
