Hello Newgrounds. It is good to see you again!

I just wanted to provide a brief update for those that may be curious how I’m doing these days.

Life is carrying on and feeling more normal with each passing day. I’m steadily working on my and my step father’s relationship; and that has seen improvement! We argue less and get along better with each day it seems.

Sure we still butt heads from time to time, but now we’re butting heads as family; which means I’m not being threatened with homelessness anymore.

I’ve started seeing a new psychiatrist and therapist; they were able to get my citalopram prescription no problem, but they simply refuse to get me the stimulant I need for focus. Adderall. They sent me to see a specialist, who my parents paid out of pocket, and who told the psychiatrist I am in the top 1% for severity in ADHD and he absolutely recommends I be put on Adderall. That should’ve been the end of it. Prescribe my meds, I’m able to focus, I get a job, poof we’re all happy again. Adderall is how I made it through school and graduated. And I haven’t used it in years so it’s not like I’m addicted. But they won’t do it.

This is because I suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury) in a horrific car accident back in 2009. They are worried that the stimulants could bring on psychosis. Here’s the kicker; they won’t give me disability in SC because the issue is perceived as “mental” which they don’t believe is a real disability down here. Can you believe that?

so I can’t get the stimulants I need to work because of the car accident in 2009. Which was physical. And documented. I was hit by a semi. I was in a coma for three days. There were plenty of brain scans.

SC has effectively fucked me and my family in this way. My mom and step dad are having to pay out of pocket for all my medical expenses. In Indianapolis I had Medicaid in less than 4 weeks. Here I’ve been struggling for over 4 months with no avail.

Its evil. The number of people that have seen my case and ALL the evidence at once and still passed the buck and left me without assistance? I love you, but this is bullshit, America.
